Bio - David Green

David and his wife Robyn began their first full-time youth ministry at FBC Alabaster in September 2011. For the past year, David has been attending Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. David will continue to pursue his Masters of Divinity in Christian Ministry as he begins his service here at FBCA.

David is originally from Centre, AL, in Cherokee County, where he grew up on a farm and enjoyed playing high school sports and participating in the youth group at Pine Grove Baptist Church. It was during an Extreme Conference in Gatlinburg, TN, his senior year that David felt God calling him into vocational ministry.

At Jacksonville State University, David earned a Bachelors of Science in Secondary Education with a concentration in History. He married his wife Robyn (Rainer), a graduate of Samford University, and they began teaching and coaching in the state of Alabama. They worked in Cherokee County for one year, in Madison County for one year, and in Lee County for two years.

While in Cherokee County, David served as the part-time youth minister for Sand Rock Baptist Church. During the summers, he and Robyn worked with Lifeway Centrifuge and Mission Fuge Camps in Panama City, FL; Jefferson City, TN; Charleston, SC; and Glorieta, NM.

Although David enjoyed coaching and working with students in school, he knew that God had called him to preach to them in full-time ministry. Thus, David began further pursuing that call by continuing his education at a Southern Baptist Seminary in order to better prepare himself for work in the local church.

David and Robyn enjoy outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping. They love to participate in and watch most all sports, but especially are fans of college football and the Alabama Crimson Tide.

David desires that the youth of FBC Alabaster become grounded in the Word of God and live radically for Christ. He takes responsibility for equipping the saints to do the work of the cause of Christ, as described in Ephesians 4:12. Therefore, the purpose of the youth group, as of the church, is to evangelize the culture and disciple believers.  To that end, David will be prayerfully pursuing God’s plan as he and Robyn share in the lives of the students at FBC Alabaster.
